Text: Laboratory Manual for Physical Geology, 11th ed Bush and Tasa. 2018. Additional assignments from other sources may be assigned (TBA).

Objectives: This lab course introduces students to the origin, identification, and significance of geologic materials and landforms. Hands-on experiences with mineral, rock and soil specimens, topographic and geologic maps are emphasized, along with field trip and in-lab observations, measurements, and interpretations. Attendance is required.

Evaluation: Final grades are based on the average of the individual laboratory exercises (70%) combined with the final lab exam (20%) and participation in lab discussions, attendance and field trip involvements (10%). No extra credit projects are allowed. Unless otherwise instructed, all assignments are due no later than noon the following day. Late assignments will be penalized 10% per day. All work turned in is to be your own. The highest standards of academic conduct and integrity are expected and will be strictly enforced. If required, the instructor's permission for withdrawal will be given only for exceptional circumstances.
