Preamble: We, the members of the Rider Ultimate Frisbee Team, plan to establish and maintain the first organization of Ultimate Frisbee on the Rider Campus.
Article I: R.U.F (Rider Ultimate Frisbee) THE ARMY
Article II: Membership
Club: Anyone who has an interest in playing Ultimate Frisbee
Team: Any Club members who fulfill a number of requirements including, but not limited to, attendance, service, and dedication.
Article III: Officers
President: The President is responsible for the rest of the members of the club. The president makes sure that things are running smoothly with the team and that the members of the executive board are doing their respective jobs. The President is also a representative of the club to other organizations, teams, and the Rider community. The President holds office for one year and is not limited to a set number of terms.
VP of Internal Affairs: The VP of Internal Affairs (VPIA) is responsible for the paperwork of the club. The VPIA is to take attendance and maintain an active roster for the team. The VPIA will also serve as the representative of THE ARMY at Club Sports meetings. In the case that the President cannot fulfill his duties the VPIA will be expected to act as President. The VPIA holds office for one year and is not limited to a set number of terms
VP of Athletics: The VP of Athletics (VPA) is the official captain of the team. The VPA is to set up a practice schedule at the beginning of each week. The VPA is responsible for the conditioning of the team. The VPA will be referred to as “The General”. The VPA holds office for one year and is not limited to a set number of terms
Treasurer: The Treasurer is responsible for the clubs budget. The Treasurer is to maintain the club’s bank account, collect dues from members of the team, and is in charge of all fundraising that the club participates in. The Treasurer holds office for one year and is not limited to a set number of terms.
Secretary: The Secretary is responsible for filing all of the paper work that the VPIA gives to him. The Secretary is also expected to maintain a list of all of the members of the club and team, distribute e-mails to said members, gather information from prospective members of the club (name, e-mail, phone, etc.), record the minutes at executive board meetings, maintain the constitution, and attend open houses and various club awareness days. The Secretary holds office for one year and is not limited to a set number of terms.
Media Supervisor: The Media Supervisor (MS) is responsible for maintaining the club’s web page. The MS is also expected to compile a video of the club that is to be viewed on the web site and at open houses and various club awareness days. The MS holds office for one year and is not limited to a set number of terms.
Public Relations: The Public Relations Officer (PRO) is the club’s recruiter. The PRO is also expected to organize non game activities for the club, advertise the club on campus, compile a video of the club (along with the MS), and attend open houses and various club awareness days. The PRO holds office for one year and is not limited to a set number of terms.
Article IV: Elections
Elections for officers will occur once a year in the spring semester. A person is eligible to be nominated for office only if they are on the team. Nominations can only come from the active members of the team. Once the candidates are selected there will be a general vote among the club and the team to determine the winners.
Article V: Meetings
The club will meet twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The team will meet 4 times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The team may also meet on other days if the VPA deems it necessary.
The executive board is to meet at least once a month to discuss the state of the team.
Article VI: Community Service
A group that is to be headed by the Treasurer and the PRO will be formed to handle matters pertaining to community service. It will be open to members of the club and the team.
